Digital Image Processing

Image
Image processing is the process of manipulating digital images. See a list of image processing techniques, including image enhancement, restoration, & others. Digital image processing is the use of a digital computer to process digital images through an algorithm. As a subcategory or field of digital signal processing, digital image processing has many advantages over analog image processing. It allows a much wider range of algorithms to be applied to the input data and can avoid problems such as the build-up of noise and distortion during processing. Since images are defined over two dimensions or more, digital image processing may be modeled in the form of multidimensional systems.  The generation and development of digital image processing are mainly affected by three factors: first, the development of computers; second, the development of mathematics (especially the creation and improvement of discrete mathematics theory); and third, the demand for a wide range ...

The World Of Linux

Image
Linux is an open source operating system (OS). It was originally conceived of and created as a hobby by Linus Torvalds in 1991 . Linus, while at university, sought to create an alternative, free, open source version of the MINIX operating system, which was itself based on the principles and design of Unix. That hobby has since become the OS with the largest user base, the most-used OS on publicly available internet servers, and the only OS used on the top 500 fastest supercomputers.  Perhaps the best thing about Linux is that it's open source. Linux is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL). That means that anyone can run, study, share, and modify the software. The modified code can also be redistributed, and even sold, but must be done so under the same license. This differs greatly from traditional operating systems—Unix and Windows, for example—which are proprietary, locked-down, and delivered as-is and unmodifiable. From smartphones to cars, supercomputers and h...

Revolutionizing Electronics: Groundbreaking Graphene Semiconductor Marks a New Era in Computing

Image
Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice, and it is considered a two-dimensional material. It is a basic structural element of other carbon allotropes like graphite, carbon nanotubes, and fullerenes. Graphene is a promising material for electronics due to its unique properties, such as high conductivity and mechanical strength. However, integrating graphene into semiconductor devices poses significant challenges, and progress in this area has been a subject of ongoing research. But recently Scientists have successfully created a working and scalable semiconductor using graphene for the first time. The achievement opens the door to a potential revolution in computing, introducing a new type of computer with enhanced speed and efficiency compared to the current silicon chip technology.  The semiconductor chips are increasingly emerging as pivots of the global economy, and are described as the 'new oil' of the technology age. The computing power ...

Game Dev Mastery: Understanding Game Development with Unity and C#

Image
Did you know that the video game industry rakes in more revenue than movies and music combined! Behind the scenes, game development with Unity and C# is the art of turning imagination into interactive reality. Let's dive into the world of game creation and discover why Unity and C# make the perfect power couple for building digital dreams. What is Game Development? Simply speaking, Game Development is the overall process of creating a video game. And if you thought that making a video game is as easy as playing one, well it’s not! There are many components while creating a game such as Story, Characters, Audio, Art, Lighting, etc. that eventually merge together to create a whole new world in a video game! This process of Game Development for commercial games is funded by a publisher (a company) but independent video games are comparatively cheaper and smaller so they can be funded by individuals also. Now there is a common doubt relating to Game Development that only good Game Pla...

IBM Releases First-Ever 1000-Qubit Quantum Chip

Image
The International Business Machines Corporation, nicknamed Big Blue, is an American multinational technology corporation headquartered in Armonk, New York and is present in over 175 countries.  IBM is known for its hardware and software products, including computers, servers, storage systems and networking equipment. It also provides consulting, technology and business services, such as cloud computing, data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI). IBM has unveiled the first quantum computer with more than 1,000 qubits — the equivalent of the digital bits in an ordinary computer. But the company says it will now shift gears and focus on making its machines more error-resistant rather than larger. For years, IBM has been following a quantum-computing road map that roughly doubled the number of qubits every year. The chip unveiled on 4 December, called Condor, has 1,121 superconducting qubits arranged in a honeycomb pattern. It follows on from its other record-setting, bird-...

Web 2.0

Image
We all know that a new era of internet is coming i.e Web 3.0. But before knowing about it we should know what is web 2.0 and how it's affecting our present day to day life. Web 2.0 describes the current state of the internet, which has more user-generated content and usability for end- users compared to its earlier incarnation, Web 1.0. Web 2.0 generally refers to the 21st-century Internet applications that have transformed the digital era in the aftermath of the dotcom bubble Web 1.0 was the first version of World wide web, Its evolution took placefrom roughly 1989 to 2004. Personal web pages were common, consisting mainly of static pages hosted on ISP run web servers, or on free web hosting services such as Tripod and the now-defunct GeoCities With Web 2.0, it became common for average web users to have social-networking profiles (on sites such as Myspace and Facebook) and personal blogs (sites like Blogger, Tumblr and LiveJournal) through either a low cost web hosting servic...
